Possible Disappearance of Key Witness in Dharmasthala Case: Intelligence Inputs to Dakshina Kannada SP

Belthangady, Karnataka – The Dharmasthala case continues to see fresh developments as intelligence reports suggest that the key witness and complainant may go into hiding once the process of exhuming the burial site is completed, according to Dakshina Kannada Superintendent of Police Dr. Arun K.



In a press release, SP Dr. Arun stated that certain local sources have provided confidential inputs indicating that the witness might abscond after the exhumation is carried out. Concerns are also being raised about an urgency being shown to proceed with the exhumation without following proper investigative procedures.


The SP clarified that the legal representatives of the witness have been informed about these possibilities, and the police are currently assessing all scenarios.


Additionally, a petition related to this matter has reportedly been submitted to the Supreme Court. However, the investigating officers were not initially made aware of this by the witness’s legal team.


Authorities have submitted a report to the concerned court requesting permission to conduct tests such as brain mapping, fingerprint analysis, and narco-analysis, if the witness provides consent.


The SP further assured that the process of exhumation will only be undertaken once the investigating officers determine the appropriate stage for it, and only after following all required legal protocols.
